The lunch break, the time when we all get to switch off and enjoy some free time during work.

At times we know it can be hard to tear yourself away from your work especially when you’re into something, but what if we told you that studies show that taking a lunch break allows your mind to rest, recharge and refocus, which can only be a good thing right? With that in mind, here’s some ways that you can relax during that all-important break.

With our new lunch options that only take 10 minutes to make, you have a majority of your lunch break to step away from your computer!

    Take yourself on an adventure
You don’t have to go far (or even leave the office!) to take yourself on an adventure at lunch. Choose a book or a podcast and escape from the working day.

    Work it off
With crazy mornings and lazy evenings on the cards for many of us, finding a time to work out can be tricky. Our advice? Make it part of your lunchtime routine. Take a trip to the gym or download one of the many home workout apps. Not only will this force you to make time away from your work, but it’s also a great way to clear your mind ready for the afternoon. Looking for a quick lunch that you can rustle up after? Try our Lunch Recipes like a Sun-dried Tomato Pesto Bowl, Artisan Panzanella Salad or our Souped-up Ramen Style Soup!

    Walk it out
If you’re not a fan of exercising, it doesn’t mean you can’t get your steps in. A walk is a great way to clear your mind and help you get the fresh air you need for the day. And there’s a range of ways to get out there. Plan your route the night before, picking new parks or local landmarks in your area that you can explore. Or take advantage of your break and walk to the shops for any bits and pieces you need for the day. Pop on an podcast or audiobook and relax on the way. It’s what we like to call a ‘quick win’.

    Meet a friend
Still working from home? We know how tempting it can be to sit quietly without any contact. However, meeting up with a friend that lives close by can give you a midday boost. Regularly meeting up with friends to chat can combat stress and improve your happiness levels. Even if you’re not talking about anything work-related. Make the most of a walk or invite them in for a delicious lunch and enjoy an hour of chats, fun and time away from your work.
