Getting your kids to eat their veggies can be stressful. So we’re sharing 5 tips to help get your kids to east more veggies!

Eating a variety of food, including vegetables, is important but how do you get your kids to do so? We know getting kids to eat their veggies can be a daunting task, so we’re here to make it a little easier for you.

Leave pre-cut, pre-washed veggies within in reach.

When it comes to snacks, we gravitate towards things that are accessible. Making it easier for your kids to find and enjoy the veggies without your help is a great way to start. Pre-cut and wash all the veggies beforehand, then either put them in plastic baggies or containers in the fridge so they can grab a quick snack whenever they’re hungry.

Colourful Plates

Decorating their plates will make them more appealing to eat! Add different coloured veggies, cut them in cute ways, and watch as your kid gets excited about beautiful vegetables that are in season.

Fresh Tip: Have them help do this or pick out the veggies so they’re even more interested in eating their veggies.

Lead by Example

Children learn by observing, which means they also take on a lot of your eating habits. In a compassionate and gentle way, reflect on your relationship with food and find out ways to introduce healthy habits into your household. Simply being excited about new foods and veggies is a great place to start.

Get Your Kids Involved

When children feel apart of the planning and preparation it can positively support their own eating behaviours! Give your child the opportunity to help prepare veggies and let them play a part in the kitchen. It could be as simple as picking out the veggies, or if they’re old enough, helping you prepare the meal.
