3 Decadent Chocolate Recipes for Valentines Day

    Dinner may be our thing but we know what’s good when it comes to dessert as well! These delicious chocolate recipes are decadent, delicious and just the right amount of chocolate-y. The perfect way to end a Valentine’s Day dinner!

    In the spirit of all things chocolate and Valentine’s Day — we’ve cooked up three easy and delicious chocolate recipes for you and your loved one. We love these recipes a choco-LOT and we know you will too!

    1. Orange Chocolate Martini

    Who says chocolate desserts just come in the form of baked goods? This Orange Chocolate Martini hits all the right spots and will satisfy any chocoholic in your life. We dare you to name a better duo than chocolate and orange, we’ll wait…

    Pro tip: Dip the rim of your glass in a little bit of melted chocolate or chocolate syrup to really amp up the chocolate-y goodness. And don’t forget to garnish with an orange slice!

    Ingredients

    • 1 Ounce Vodka
    • 1 Ounce Chocolate Liquor
    • 1 Ounce Cream de Cacao
    • 1 Ounce Orange Liquor (Grand Marnier, Cointreau, or Triple Sec)

    Instructions

    1. Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with an orange slice.

    2. Cashew Chocolate Truffles

    You’re already making a full dinner for Valentine’s Day, why add something else that needs to go in the oven? These no-bake Cashew Chocolate Truffles are just the simple dessert you need to impress after a delicious meal. A combination of dates, cashews, coconut, and cacao powder give these their decedent bite.

    Pro tip: Coat the truffles in your favourite snack like toasted coconut, crushed nuts or pumpkin seeds! Or better yet, do a variety and it’s like your own personal, handmade box of chocolates.

    Ingredients:

    • 2 Cups Pitted Dates
    • 2 Cups Raw Cashews
    • 1.5 Cups Unsweetened Shredded Coconut
    • Toppings (Shredded Coconut, Cacao Powder, Pumpkin Seeds, Sunflower Seeds, Chopped Pistachios)

    Instructions:

    1. Soak pitted dates for 10 minutes until softened.
    2. Blend all ingredients until it reaches a dough-like consistency.
    3. Shape into balls.
    4. Roll balls in whatever toppings you’d like.
    5. Store in an airtight container.

    3. Tiramisu

    Have you ever heard someone complain about tiramisu? No, because tiramisu is DELICIOUS! With just 10-ingredients you can make this delectable classic. You’ll want to keep this recipe handy because we promise you’ll be going back to it over and over.

    Pro tip: You can serve your tiramisu in any glass, but we’d recommend serving it up in a sleek martini glass with a beautiful garnish like shaved chocolate or some fresh fruit.

    Ingredients:

    • 3/4 Cup Brewed Espresso
    • 2 Tablespoons Chocolate Liqueur
    • 4 Savoiardi Cookies, aka Ladyfingers
    • 3 Large Egg Yolks, at room temperature
    • 1/4 Cup Sugar
    • 1 Cup (8 Ounces) Mascarpone Cheese
    • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
    • 2 Large Egg Whites
    • Unsweetened Cocoa Powder

    Instructions:

    1. Pour espresso into a heatproof jug and add chocolate liqueur. Set aside to let cool.
    2. Cut each cookie into quarters, then divide between the 4 martini glasses. Pour over cooled espresso mixture, then press down gently to ensure the cookies are fully coated.
    3. Add egg yolks to a large bowl and whisk with half the sugar until doubled in volume, about 3 minutes.
    4. Add mascarpone in batches, whisking well to combine, then fold in vanilla extract.
    5. In a separate bowl, whip egg whites and remaining sugar until soft peaks form.
    6. Working in batches, carefully fold egg white mixture into mascarpone mixture.
    7. Add a dollop into each martini glass, using a spoon to whirl it into a swirly peak.
    8. Let the martini glasses chill in the fridge at least 1 hour (up to 24 hours).
    9. Remove from fridge 5 minutes before serving and dust with cocoa powder.
